The occasion was the fiftieth anniversary of their wedded life. Sociability and a bounteous repast of dainty viands occupied the time from four to eight o'clock. The worthy couple were the recipiants of a purse containing $15.00 in gold. Mr. Crown was born in Vermont, April 15, 1825. Mrs. Crown was born in Essex County, N.Y. in 1831. They were united in marriage, in Pennsylvania, in 1854. In the year 1872 they moved to Iowa, locating on a farm in Homer township. They have since resided in this county, with the exception of two years spent in Nebraska, and four years in Missouri. Twelve years ago they removed to their present home in the Third ward. One son was born to this union, David, who was born in 1867, and who at present lives in Waterloo.
